From the Pastor . . . . . Here comes the greatest pressure time of the year for relationships. Due to the holidays of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year, families are pressured by time, gifts and unresolved arguments. Broken relationships that seem to be able to be dismissed now come to the fore front. The Master of Creation, the Master of the Seas, is also the Lord and Master of Relationships. Life is a series of one relationship after another. (John 10:10) Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. That translates into right and better relationships. Jesus came to set the record straight. John 17:3, the first and most important relationship is with God himself. We should not just know of Him, we are to know Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Love, respect, and trust God daily. Consciously and actively relate to God as one worthy of praise, affection, and obedience. Then, the Bible is loud about loving our neighbor as Christ Jesus has loved us (I John 4:11). The most important person in any relationship is “YOU”. You can not control other people. You are to love. You are to forgive. You are to try. You are to apologize. You are to invite. You are the initiator. Now! The ball is in your court. The command has been given. Go Ye!, and the Lord will be with you. I pray this will be a good holiday season for you and all of yours. ~Pastor Doug~ |
